What is mcladder?

mcladder is competitive hardcore survival in Minecraft. Three shared objectives, identical starting worlds and one life per player. Play one against one in Solo or with a teammate in Duo: game knowledge, quick decisions and survival skills win matches here.

Your plan makes the difference

The same map can lead to completely different runs. One player heads straight for ore, another looks for a village, and someone else stocks up on food first. In mcladder, you put your decisions up against another player's on the same starting map.

The same start, different routes

Terrain, resources and structures are identical at the start. Opponents play in separate worlds: you cannot take their loot or attack their team. Get ahead through speed, game knowledge and a well-chosen route.

Every risk has a cost

You need to finish before your opponents while protecting your only life. Sometimes it is worth spending a minute on a shield and food. Sometimes it is better to pass a rich mine because your current objectives do not need it.

How a match works

Choose your mode

Play one against one in Solo, or team up against another pair in Duo. Start matchmaking from the mod menu. It takes player ratings into account.

Decide how to play

Study the objectives, choose your route and prepare for the risks. Every match uses Hard world difficulty. It cannot be changed.

Complete the objectives and survive

Win by completing all three objectives before your opponents. In Solo, death means defeat. In Duo, your teammate can carry on after you die.

Ranks and ELO

Your first matches are placement matches: they help establish your ELO rating. Wins raise it; losses lower it. ELO determines your rank, and each rank has five divisions. Your highest rating is saved in your profile as your peak ELO.
