mcladder Privacy
Last updated: 2026-07-15. This page describes what data the mcladder mod and mcladder.com process and why.
1. What we process
- Minecraft account:username and UUID — to verify a licensed account via Mojang's standard joinServer flow. Your password and token are never sent to us and are not visible to us.
- Network: IP address — to determine country (profile flag, region), protect the service and detect ban evasion via alternate accounts. IPs are never shown publicly.
- Presence: the mod reports your status (in menu / searching / in match) for the online counter and matchmaking.
- Match data: results, rating (ELO), match events, challenges, inventory snapshots, 2D movement tracks and replays. Profiles, leaderboards and match pages (including replays) are public.
- Site account: when you sign in with Discord or Telegram — the identifier and username from those services (to link them to your game profile).
- Game log: the tail of latest.log is sent ONLY when you press “Send log to support”. Logs are never collected automatically; we store detected issues, not raw logs.
- Purchases: payments are handled by payment providers (Telegram Stars, CryptoBot etc.). We store the order contents and status; card/wallet data never reaches us.
- Cookies: the sign-in session and your language choice (NEXT_LOCALE). No ad trackers.
- Analytics: we run our own privacy-first analytics (Umami) hosted on our servers — no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no data sold or sent to third parties. It records aggregate page visits, referral source and anonymized country; it never identifies you or links to your game account.
2. Why
- Running the ladder: matchmaking, ratings, seasons, match history and replays.
- Fair play: anti-cheat, report review, ban-evasion protection.
- Support: diagnostics based on a log you chose to send.
- Service security and stability.
3. Sharing
We never sell data. Only game data is public (username, stats, matches, replays). Payment providers process payments under their own policies; hosting providers store our servers' data.
4. Retention
- Match history and ratings — for as long as the ladder exists (public competitive history).
- Replay files — for a limited time (shown on the match page), then deleted.
- Support diagnostics — as issue records, without the raw log.
5. Your choices
- Unlink Discord/Telegram or delete your site account — in profile settings or via support.
- Request data deletion — message us in our Discord community (link on the home page).
- Don't want to share a log? Just don't press the button — it never affects gameplay.
6. Children
mcladder is a general-audience competitive service and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create an account or participate. If the law in your country sets a higher minimum age for giving independent consent to data processing, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you believe we collected a child's data without the required permission, contact support; we will restrict access and delete or otherwise handle the data as required by applicable law.
7. Changes & contact
Changes will be posted on this page and announced in Discord. Data questions — reach us in our Discord community (link on the home page).
8. Detailed mod, match and replay data
- During a ranked match the mod records gameplay needed to reproduce and verify it: player position, movement and view, health, hunger, armour, effects, inventory and equipment; blocks, entities, items, kills, sounds, world events, advancements, challenge progress and in-match chat.
- The replay and its event timeline may expose this gameplay data, including match chat, to anyone who opens the public match page while the replay is available.
- Presence heartbeats can include your current state, elapsed queue or match time, opponent and match identifier. These details are used for matchmaking and live status features.
- For Duo, the host's LAN world is connected through the mcladder relay. The relay processes connection metadata and carries the game traffic between teammates for the duration of the session.
9. Devices, integrations and recipients
- Website sessions and security records can contain IP address, user agent and derived browser, operating system and device information.
- Country lookup may send an IP address to ipinfo.io or ipwho.is. Mojang/Microsoft, Discord, Telegram, payment and hosting providers process the data needed for their respective services under their policies.
- Discord Rich Presence is optional. When enabled, the mod sends Discord your mcladder activity, mode, rank/ELO, party size and, when a party is joinable, a temporary party join code. It can be disabled in mcladder settings.
10. Retention and deletion details
- Replay files are normally kept for 30 days; the exact expiry is shown on the match page. Match result, rating and moderation records can remain after the replay file expires.
- A submitted latest.log tail is analysed transiently and is not stored as raw text. The resulting issue record is kept for up to 30 days.
- Deleting or unlinking a site account does not automatically erase public competitive history or records that must be retained for moderation, ban-evasion prevention, security, fraud prevention or accounting.
